so these schmap people want to maybe use one of my flickr photos for the seattle page.  is it worth signing away the indefinite but nonexclusive rights to my photo of easy street records for some site I've never even heard of?

Generally, my feeling is that people are free to use anything of mine as long as they ask nicely and use it in a civil manner.  So unless they're planning on drawing swastikas and poop all over your picture, I say go for it!

i'd say no.  i'm sure that schmap doesn't get their html coding, graphic design/layout for their site, or the like done for free.  they also have google ads on their site, so they do have some revenue stream.

My bad dogg.  There was like a similar such conversation in another thread and I thought those were the posts your were quoting, and then you'd mentioned some trouble with Firefox and I thought you'd just tabbed it up all whacky.

Suppose I am sicker than I thought....great, I'm stoked about that fucking 3 hour final tonight.

It was snowing a little here, earlier.  I'll be psyched when we get enough for it to stick to the earth in a thick layer.  I like making things out of snow.

SNOW

That is an old old old old picture of my childhood backyard and I am not sure why it scanned all ass-y.
My ritual with First Snows is to put Funeral in my headphones and walk around at night, because that is a winter record to me. We are currently, well not at this second but were for the past twelve hours, being pummeled with it and there are probably six solid inches and it is not really all that cold outside and it is mostly un-dog-peed-inso I am happy, except for the part where I get salt stains on the cuffs of my pants legs.

That's an excellent shot.  I rotated and cropped it for you (I hope you don't mind)

This weather makes me really happy! We got the perfect amount of snow; about 2 1/2 inches, and it's still snowing a bit. And it's exactly 32 degrees, so it'll be around for a few days.

Yay!

the sad thing is, without a thyroid and a way to really amp up my body temperature, waking up in a house that's 70 degrees is too cold for me.  i'd be frozen to the sidewalk if i lived in the midwest.  although as soon as the weather got a little cooler i was like 'ahhh, now this is the weather for me'.  i like cold brisk windy weather.

They asked me for one, and I said what the hell, sure. I am still kind of on-the-fence about it. It was a not-so-great photo I took in Brisbane, Australia. If you want to read the debates about whether or not to say yes to these people, there are several threads about them on the Flickr groups. Basically they're doing the whole "user-generated content" model, which basically means they make money off of stuff people put up for free. But I figured I'd never use the photo for anything anyway, and so it was worth it for me to get whatever pageviews I might get from their usage out of it. If it had been a better photo, I would have said no.

However, with a bike and a shed with a frozen lock it is a little less so.
