i love how the cat is obviously charging across the room to snatch the camera away so you can't take his picture... but is JUST A BIT TOO LATE.

But... but... the D80 is better!
(Actually, I prefer Canon cuz they're built like tanks. I never worry about going shooting with mine because I can always beat the shit out of anyone who tries to mug me.)

This is June. I helped make her. After 9 weeks I have decided that she is pretty awesome and I will keep her.

So for some reason, the image isn't displaying, but I just cut-and-pasted to see it, and man oh man that is one adorable little changeling you got there.

Don't buy the D40.
Buy the D80.
1) Psh I can't afford the D80
2) I am not a photographer, just someone who likes to take pictures, so spending THAT much money (i.e. more than $500) on a camera ain't worth it
3) I was gonna get a rebel but I really think the D40 is a great size
4) I'll only buy Canon or Nikon, though I'm pretty faithful to Canon
5) ughhhh I hate wanting things I don't need.

I am a Nikon girl, but have you tried the Canon XTi? It's pretty teeny. Maybe not as cute as the D40, though. Also you might have a peek at the Canon G9, everyone's gushing over it these days, and it takes RAW and has full manual and all that.

I'm basically in between the XTI and the D40. I don't want to spend too much, I want something where I can teach myself basic skills but not get overwhelmed. I've always had Canons (35mm and point & shoot digital) but after playing around with the D40 at work, I sort of love it. I don't know. Someone should just buy me one for Christmas so I don't have to decide!

I think they're both pretty similar. I know people who have both and like them.

Do they even make D50s anymore? That's what I have, on recent scoping of B&H, I see they don't have them.
I think you should just jump the gun and buy a Leica M series....and give it to me!
