i don't think it's that movie--the date is, I think 1996, and the video release is 1997.

One of the other members of a discussion forum about Irish architecture (where I post when LPtJ just isn't nerdy enough) put up a few nice pictures of Dublin recently.  If you're curious, this is where I live.

The brick portions and in fact a lot of it reminds me of Boston.

From what little I remember of Boston, I can see what you mean.  Then again, let's not forget, the White House was designed by an Irishman, and our 'native' styles of architecture are generally reflective of that other island to our east, so it's maybe not that surprising that a city with a history of Irish residents would share some characteristics with the homeland.

i like how the description he gives at the beginning is all very poetic and literary, as i imagine all irish people must talk like with their august literary heritage. 

That's Graham alright.  A top bloke, and a model messageboard poster (he never fights, he's very clever), with a penchant for occasionally florid language.
