I've always liked the one at the end of the Olivier
Hamlet
. They fight florentine*
* that means with spinach
(not really)
(maybe it wasn't florentine but they were fighting with 2 blades and in my memory the action was lightning fast. 'course it's been a long long time since I've seen it)

here is a secret:
I really really really want to see that movie, and that is with and despite my burning hatred of Patrick Dempsey

I have not seen Enchanted but after a friend of ours talked it up to D at the bar the other night I have a sneaking suspicion that I will have to eventually.

I'm kind of curious about it. I'm hoping someone I know will go see it and then tell me about it so I can decide. I'd probably wait until it was out on video anyway.

You know, I don't mind Amy Adams. I saw the commercial for Enchanted and squeed, "It's Katy the purse girl!"
I have a feeling that I'd like that movie in a guilty pleasure sort of way. I'd only turn on Adams if Jenna Fischer were in the movie as Dempsey's coworker with whom Fischer and Dempsey share mutual, unrecognized attraction.

Is there a way to have negative faith in a movie? 'Cause I got that. Making a movie adapation of Watchmen seems like it has about as much chance of succeeding as making a cookbook adaptation of Linux.

i mean, can't alan moore like sue dc or warner bros for making his work into total schlock? i mean, sure, he doesn't own a lot of it, BUT it could seriously prevent him from getting work in the future! who's gonna hire the guy behind that shitty sean connery movie?

no dude, he can't. he did all of it as work for hire. he was supposed to get the rights to watchmen back as soon as the trade went out of print... but then it sold so well that dc has never allowed it to go out of print.

Also, I thought I remembered reading that he'd disowned it as a result of some bad blood with DC...this could be a complete fabrication, mind you.
