home internet down AGAIN.  wtf?  I guess I just need to put Verizon on speed dial.

also, tT, they want yer interest (=more money) later, rather than less money sooner, the clever bastards.

those whores.

it's going to work out about the same though. there was a minimum loan amount, which was more than i needed with the down payment i had, so now i'll just pay the max for a couple months until the remainder is gone instead of paying it all at once, then go down towards the minimum payment for the rest of the loan.

I did a fantastic job of procrastinating today. Really world-class. I now have new Hello Kitty floor mats and I'm going to get an F on my katakana exam. GOOD JOB.

There's snow on the ground.  Evil or Very Mad

I mean, right now, it's raining, but there's a layer of snow there that's not making me happy. I'm totally not ready for snow. The yard is still full of leaves. I hate weather.

And that snow has not hit here yet, but likely will just in time for me to drive down to Quincy tomorrow evening for Thanksgiving.  Also annoying.

in l.a. it's foggy and might have dropped below 60 for a few seconds, so people are wearing big eskimo coats and hugging their mochaccinos for warmth.

yards are supposed to be full of leaves. raking leaves disrupts the cycle of nature. don't rake the leaves!

Not raking makes me unpopular in my suburban neighborhood. I've told you stories about my lawn nazi neighbor, right? One time, my mailbox was full of leaves, another there was a bag of leaves left on my doorstep. Recently, he put up a fence between our yards--I'm pretty sure it's primarily to keep my leaves out of his yard. He doesn't even really have any trees, just "landscaping".

fuck that guy. that's twice as much reason not to rake leaves. i'd dump the damn bag of leaves out in his front yard. let him call the cops and get them out there just to tell him that nothing illegal has actually happened. i would love to see that.

I just want to plant more trees. I've already let the backyard go feral. It's a nice neighborhood, raking is a small concession.

when I was little my favorite thing was to rake the leaves into big "nests" and jump in them.  my dog also liked to lay in the leaf piles.  they didn't stay very piled up for long.  we were not popular with the more fastidious neighbors.
