Making me annoyed?

CONTRACTS EXAM IN TWO FUCKING HOURS THAT WILL LAST FOR FOUR HOURS AND MAKES ME CRY

As much as I'd love to tell you to quit being a pussy...I just can't, 'cause that shit is gonna suck!

Good luck!

It is closed book.  How were your first year exams? Mine are all open book with one closed book.  Last week I was all "i think the closed book one will actually be easier!" and now I'm like "OH FUCK WHAT AM I GOING TO DO!".

That reminds me of a physics professor I had who let us choose whether our exams would be open- or closed-book, and made it clear that the choice really would not help us in any way.

I've never had an open book exam, dogg.  You should consider yourself at least somewhat lucky in that respect...though the temptation to leaf through shit wastes valuable time I would think.

Actually, my Professional Responsibility exam was open book, but the professor just straight bent us all over for that one anyway...even with the book the thing was damn near impossible, which is pretty ridiculous considering the subject matter.

You'll do alright, man.  You'll be surprised how much shit your brain has actually retained without you even being aware of it.  Just don't panic.

Does anyone ever sit down to do something but before you know you are posting all over lptj and pacing back and forth in your room and generally doing everything except what you set out to do? Or is this just a problem with me?

When I used to be not-at-work, I did it all the time.

Well, you know, sometimes I do it at work too.  I mean, let's not tell stories: I didn't get to work until 11:15 this morning.  That's 4.25 hours late.

I was thinking about starting a thread about time-theft. It is pretty much the perfect crime.

If you ever work for the federal government--and I'm sure several other employers will tell you this as well--you'll get a long list of things that constitute time-theft, and if you are a good American you'll find that you probably spend about half your work day doing those things.

Wait, I thought government jobs were supposed to be at least 50% time theft. 98% if you work at the DMV or the post office.

Those jobs are actually over 100%, because they waste not only the employee's time, but the everyone else's as well.

time for another episode in the saga of andrew vs. the dumb richmond toughguys:

It's funny that you of all people have the nerve to call someone out for being an internet shit talker. Last I checked, you were the one being beat up for a better part of the 90's for your shitty internet personality, not me.

folks, it's time for another episode of "THE IMPORTANCE OF DEFINING YOUR TERMS"!

"being beat up" = getting jumped by 15 kids who, between them, didn't manage to give me anything worse than a split lip (meanwhile, one of them broke his hand sucker-punching me in the back of the head)

"better part of the 90s" = one night in summer 1998

good god i am tired of ignorant abuse from tough-guy teenagers. this board sucks.

i'm quitting that board. serious this time.

It all turned to rain by the time it got here.  I got wet as fuck riding home last night though.

But maybe it will have frozen by this morning?  Dunno

Here we had rain, then sleet, then giant snowflakes.

I guess it took an hour for most of my coworkers to get to work (drives that usually take 15-30 minutes) for first shift.  I decided to eat a cheap and tasty breakfast in the hospital cafeteria, and leave for home (after 3rd shift ended) after rush hour was over.  I am brilliant!  The weather was clear and my drive was easy and quick!

I guess this belongs in the happy thread.

Of course, then the weather got icky again.  So instead of Christmas shopping or taking a walk, I slept all day.  Then I slept some more.  And sleeping all day is annoying.

Yeah tests that are open book aren't really easier, they're just different.  I can honestly say that I didn't really even look at my outline through the whole open book test.  (we could print off anything that had been posted online or any notes we had taken).  what I did look at a lot was her grading memos from previous tests that asked the exact same questions.  SUCKERS

Open Book=harder content and an expectation of more nuanced answers
Closed Book = sieve in the vein blood purge on paper.

Yeah, looking at past tests is invaluable.  I know that just got me a few correct answers on my Property exam.

hah, i remember this kind of thing. you have no idea how wet you can possibly get until you have to ride a bike for 45 minutes in a driving rain. i'd get home and be able to wring out my underwear.

tomorrow Verizon will come and hopefully fix my internet.  annoying:  I totally don't believe a word they say at this point and I had to give them a 4 hour window.  'cause it's not like I have a JOB or anything.  they better fix stuff or I am going to...  I dunno, do something drastic that involves explosions.

Man, yknow who I hate? Verizon.

But I am annoyed because I have to go to court tomorrow morning, over rent that I already paid, and I didn't receive the summons until yesterday. I will be looking for every opportunity to stick it to the Man.
