In way more random news, my coworker made this video and sent it to our entire plant.  It's It's a Wonderful Life in about 1:00, with our heads cartooned onto the people in the movie.  For the record, I am george bailey.  I will, for privacy's sake not tell you who is who other than that. I do that too!  I worked with this guy once whose superpower was being able to tell what proportions of ingredients were in any given batch of chocolate-chip cookies.  So me and a bunch of my students made 5 or 6 different batches of cookies to test him.  He was amazingly accurate for all of them, but when he tried my recipe, the first thing he said was, "Wow.  SO buttery.  How much butter is in this?"  And I was all, "NONE, it's shortening, SUCKAAAAAA"

or you could use non-hydrogenated vegetable shortening.  sayin'

the advantage to nearly losing my mind with worry about the situation I am in, I suppose, is that I have 400 interviews next week because I have been applying to every single thing possibly available. But if God is trying to teach me a lesson, I fail to see what that is other than dude I get it, being poor is hard and terrifying.

Also, today at work when we were drinking and playing Wii bowling, someone mentioned that we should have invaded the modeling agency next door and hooked up our Wii to the giant plasma tv at the end of their runway, and then bowled on the runway.

The bossman said that he would make this happen in a couple months.

Then we went on to suggest that it would be neat to have the models serve us beer.

He's going to look into that also.

but there isn't just one, there's three. so is it king, nash, or blackie? come on, dude, the people want to know.

haha I forgot that I posted this.  I've been afraid of bringing it up on a public forum, given the uh nature of my gf's dance troupe, but yeah, it's King, though everyone in that group calls him Ed.

His wife is actually really cool, apparently she was some sort of industry bigwig back in the day; enough so that she's mid-30s and retired.  She was childhood friends with Mike Mills or something and made a lot of $$ during the alt-boom.  I need to ask her more about it sometime, but I don't want to be all, "Sure, whatever, you just got naked on stage, who cares, tell me about early-90s alt-rock!"

WORD! i thought i wasn't gonna find out. i almost assumed you meant nash, since he sang the most, but i'm glad i decided to go ahead and ask.

i love urge overkill so much. i don't give a flying fuck if steve albini thinks they were dumb and couldn't play their instruments. the records were great. that's what counts.

EDIT: also, i know king is really ed, just as i know nash is really nate and blackie's really johnny. but it's just fun to call them by their rock dude names.
