Only one of them had a guitar, though, right?  Bluegrass, the Southern Silverhawk.

And here's the theme song: Silverhawks

I think the bylaws say that calling Greg 'Southern' is tantamount to initiating a death-duel with him.

I actually had like seen possible angry responses to being called Southern, but then as soon as I started typing, I got bored and ended up carving a piece of wood instead.

Greg doesn't need to engage in some kind of silly exchange to prop up his pride.

And a carved piece of wood!

Also, Lucy, thanks for your advice re: the sprain.  It seems to be healing up.  Although not being able to run is making me feel a little stir-crazy.

EDIT:  wait, that should have gone in the annoyed thread.  Too late now, I suppose.  Lucy, sorry to bring the mass confusion.

Does anybody have any idea why Star Trek: Enterprise season 3 is listed as one of Danny Kaye's movies on netflix?  I am puzzled.  I mean, I love Danny Kaye movies and I love me some Star Trek but I don't believe the two ever crossed paths, especially nearly 20 years after Danny Kaye's death.

edit: OK so a scene from one of his movies was being watched during one episode.  Should that make Star Trek: Enterprise season 3 the second hit in a Danny Kaye search?  jeez

They're just trying to convince people Enterprise is worth renting.

Trivial Pursuit with grandma, question regarding the identity of the player who replaced Phil Niekro in the Yankees in the 1980s, or something like that; answer: Joe Niekro

Grandma: whaaaaat? Who did you say?
Me: Joe Niekro, grandma.
Grandma: whaaaaaat? I can't hear you.
Me: Joe Niekro. The Niekro brothers. Niekros.
Grandma: Oh, okay. Yes, I remember when they let the Negroes play baseball. They were quite good.

That is hilarious.

Related: I found out when I was home that my Yiayia answers all political survey calls with effusive affirmations:

"Which of the candidates do you like best?"
"All of them!  They're all great!"
"Are you considering voting in the Republican primary?"
"I sure am!"
"Do you plan on voting for Hillary Clinton?"
"Of course!"

Her explanation is that she prefers skewing results to actual collection of data.

This is random, but I wanted to share anyway.  I started vermicomposting last week.  I have worms in a bin under my sink and they are eating my food scraps and making compost.  In my tiny kitchen.  It's very cool.  I was worried that the home I made was not to their liking, but I added some more bedding and they appear to happy and settling in (i.e. eating stuff and not dying).

Anyway: SCIENCE! And I'm making less garbage.  Pretty neat.

No, but I have a few houseplants that could use fertilizing and I asked around at work and there are several gardeners who will gladly take my compost, so that should work.

It also works well with my new mostly vegan diet, I don't have a lot that isn't compostable.
