People, I'm drunk and watching "This Year's Girl" and I'd just like to say that, 4 years after choosing it more or less at random, I still stand firmly behind my choice of screenname.

I had a very painful conversation trying to explain your name to someone earlier in the week.

LET'S GET BIZZAY

I also did not get what this meant at first, but I know understand, and it's fantastic -- I kind of hope Ike saying "LET'S GET BIZZAY" becomes shorthand for lack-of-good-writing-based desperation for the remainder of the strike.

It's German, isn't it? Means "The Blucas, The" if I'm not mistaken.

Well, we watched another three episodes of FNL and I have to say I'm fairly sold, all the teen drama stuff notwithstanding.

That's the only 100% official source for sure, but if you're up for some wild speculation/rumor-mongering I recommend   Nikki Finke.  Normally I find her stuff kind of sanctimonious and abrasive, but she's' updating her site approximately 5,000 times a day with strike-related news/rumors.  And since Variety actually held back a story for 3 weeks at a studio's request earlier this year, there's aren't a lot of non-in-the-studios-pocket LA-based sources.

I started watching Dexter.

1. Creepy
2. Yeah, hard to believe. But I'm okay with that.
3. A haircut made David Fisher kind of hot.  I'm glad he's still slightly..uh...niles crane-y?

I finished the first season of Oz. Toward the middle, I was thinking I didn't really need to see the rest of the season or the series, but I watched the rest of it, and it got pretty good. I'll put season 2 in the queue.

that was a great episode last night.  i especially give them props for letting some of the minor characters like judah friedlander have their own subplots.  who knew that guy actually had that much energy in him.

So this may or may not be obvious to most people but you guys knew about the Instant Viewing option if you have Netflix? Well, I didn't know about two weeks ago and that's how I successfully watched 3 seasons of the Office and a little bit of FNL. Now, what tv show to start with next? I watched the 30 Rock pilot last night.

This is the shallowest thing I will ever post. But. I really like and covet Liz Lemon's brown purse that she has been wearing on the last few episodes. WANNIT

I will marry the shit out of Tina Fey.

Every time Liz talks about being lonely on the show, it kills me a little more.  Mainly because Tina Fey's already married and has a kid.

Jay Leno Is A Bitch
Quote
Today was the last day for most of the 120 staffers on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” who left with an early Christmas bonus check and no guarantee of a job when the strike ended.

“Do we have a job when the strike ends? That’s what everyone keeps asking,” said one former staffer. “They’ve guaranteed no one a job. They just keep saying, ‘The letter explains it.”

That letter is a notice from NBC’s human resources department that says, “If your services are needed, we will contact you.”
We saw a commercial last night for one of the shows that is going to evidently replace regular scripted programming and I do not want to talk about it anymore because I will cry.

“We haven’t heard from him since the second or third day of the strike,” said a former Leno staffer. “He called on speakerphone while we were in our daily meeting and said, ‘Don’t look for other jobs, no one’s going to lose their house, we’ll get though this.’ Two weeks ago, we got the heads up that we had two more weeks (of pay) and that’s it. Everyone wondered, ‘Is Jay going to come through?’ And nothing happened. Conan makes less and he said, ‘I’m going to pay for my people.’

I've been watching How I Met Your Mother because it passes the time, and I have in that time that was being passed developed a major jones for Cobie Smulders. It may have something to do with her name, or it may have to do with the fact that she is extremely attractive.

I've also watched a few episodes of the U.S. Office, which I've never seen too much of, and I think my favorite character is Phyllis. Well, Hannah, but just because I have to stick up for my own. I find John Krasinski incredibly unappealing. A smarmbag.

He's just...so...calculated...to be an aw-shucks boyfriend-type. But he obviously wouldn't look me in the eye if he knew me. I mean, Jim, not the actor; well, the actor, too, but here I mean Jim specifically. Therefore, blah!

I really love the Jim/Dwight stuff, like it makes me way happier than it should. Specifically, this clip:

For fuck's sake people don't read Vareity if you want actual strike news that article is exaggerated to the max.

They've printed similar ones throughout the strike that have later been shown to be completely false.
