Hey, I guess this justifies a posting of my own in the happy thread! Which is to say - this all makes me very happy. Further reasons for happiness being shortly related in the recently seen shows thread.

The best part is, I wrote that line about cool people sending me cool stuff in the mail BEFORE I came home to find your excellent postcard!

I have the day off today. I think I'll do laundry and smoke pot.

I've been doing the magnetic fields taxes today and mother of god, I hate receipts. And I saw the Lemony Snickett Symphony thing at Lincoln Center this morning. woo. Exhausting day.

Well, true to my word, I smoked pot and did laundry. Hoo-wee, did I get the Holy Spirit in me today. I got home just under two hours ago and have been cleaning ever since. So far, the bathroom counter is clean and the toilet is clean and I dusted and cleaned the floors and vacuumed the rugs. Now I need to put away my laundry and I'd like to bake some brownies.

I own Doc Martens! I feel power surges whenever I walk anywhere in them.
Also my friend borrowed Flight of the Conchords, Borat, Outrageous Fortune, Quadrophenia and best of all Twin Peaks off her family. I anticipate much TV-watching, whenever I'm away from my god-awful job.

Doc Martens are great.  I still have the pair I bought way back in high school (wow, they're probably about 8 years old by now, at least), and they are fantastic.

I've had mine for about 12 years now. I can't believe they're still in more than functional condition. I need to get a tin of wax polish and go to town.

Man, I don't really like the way Docs look brand new.  I didn't really like wearin em until a few years in when they'd gotten scuffed and worn-in.

Takin a can of polish to mine at this point would be like taking a can of Pledge to my back deck.

They look pretty neat but the tread appears to be made of poop

This:

I just got an e mail back from the owner of a children's store I applied to almost a month ago!

If I'm still interested in the position, she hopes I'll get in touch with her when I get back!

retail experience. mostly weekends. Fuck. yes.

oh man, I was scrolling through posts and I totally for some strange strange reason thought blucas posted this.  I was like, man, my brother is getting weirder and weirder by the day.

it's easy to confuse the two of us because we're both 18 year old girls.

Much Love

And diesel quoting me in his sig

and cheese.  just its existence, I don't really have any good cheese in the apartment right now.  But I should get some.

My boss informally challenged me to a cook-off yesterday. Which means that sometime I think in March we're going to have some sort of big work party, and I'd be surprised if it didn't involve grilling and booze.

A friend just popped into my office to invite me to dinner tonight. Said dinner will definitely involve booze, delicious food, and good company. Probably no grilling (although they do have a fireplace on which they occasionally grill stuff and roast chestnuts). It's really nice having friends that I get to hang out with three or four times a month. When I was in London, I'd be lucky if I saw most of my friends three or four times a year and that always took at least a week's notice and planning and so on. I like this new way better.
