spending time with people in nice weather is even better. i've been in -30 northern canadian temps (40 below with wind chill) for the past week and couldn't be more thrilled to be enjoying a week in the dominican republic with my future in-laws come february. surprise surprise.

I got my state tax refund. It is kind of huge.

Whoa, the happy thread was almost on page two!  That's no good!  Be happier, guys!

So, here is why I am reviving this thread:

1) I am going home in two and a half days!
2) I get to see my boy in less than a week!!!
3) I spent all day packing and cleaning the apartment.  I'm giving away a ton of clothes and getting rid of a lot of other stuff, and it feels good!  I'm done getting ready!  I always pack at the last minute, so this is sort of a big deal for me.  Feels good to be all packed and ready to go two and a half days early!
4) All my stuff fits in the two big suitcases I have (plus my backpack for a carry-on)!
5) My apartment is SO CLEAN!  It SMELLS GOOD!
6) I just have a few more things to do now: mail some stuff tomorrow (including my taxes, which I completed filling out today) and e-mail some people.  That's about it.  My life ROCKS right now.
7) I only have to teach six more classes here!  Ever!
8) I AM GOING HOME IN TWO AND A HALF DAYS!

I started my shiny new job and it's not half as bad as I thought it would be.  And I hang out with a group of pretty neat boys during breaks and lunch.

And I have confirmation that both boys I have been previously involved with are currently missing me at least a little bit, and just that is making me feel pretty amazing.

Have a great trip and enjoy the return home!
