RE: The Last Word special, I don't think Simon is saying anything except that the news orgs themselves made a big mistake about how they transitioned into the internet market, ie that they thought the online version would serve as an ad for the print version. I don't think he's down on the internets; rather, he is skeptical as to whether execs in control of regional papers will pull their heads out of their rectums and retool the old business plans to accommodate the digi world. But we all know I am Simon's bitch and apologist--

Yeah, that's being awfully generous. I don't think he thinks much of net journalism in general, and he sounded quite bitter. He's a pretty bitter man from what I understand.

So I was searching around the internets hoping against hope to dig up 3 and 4, and some asshole posted these giant screencaps a pivotal scene in episode 5.  gaaaaaaah.  I'm pissed that I spoiled myself, a little, but really it has me going even more WTF! because it involves a person who I'm pretty sure we haven't seen since Season 1.  Maybe he was around briefly in Season 3, but I don't think so.

Not really spoilery, but whited it just in case.

Man, three and four will be on torrent before they're anywhere else. We should all just relax a bit; we're two weeks ahead of the game.

And now I'm gonna spend my day racking my brain trying to think of characters I haven't seen since season 1, thanks a lot

haha, yeah, I don't think I'd be as anxious for 3 and 4 if 5, 6, and 7 weren't just sitting there, taunting me.

Is that satirical? Cuz if it's real, I don't want to read it.

It's a practical joke Simon played on the crew.

Nice.

Also: HBO knows exactly who watches this show--white, upper middle class yuppie intellectuals. There have been splash ads all over NPR.org, Slate, Salon, and the New Yorker today.

oh god, on the internets they're saying that the leaks didn't get removed because of HBO bringing the hammer down; people were bitching in the comments at pirate bay and mininova about the wmv rips and the sound quality, and releasing them out of order.  There was so much bitching on mininova that the dude who leaked them got pissed and removed the torrents.  God, I hate assholes on the internet sometimes.  I could be watching 3 and 4 RIGHT NOW.

but, 5, 6 and 7 are just sitting there... and it's cold outside and i'm bored... and there's nothing else on thanks to the writers' strike.  I've got to have something, man!

Pollo, you don't want me to do that, because the odds of me getting drunk and screwing up a spoiler tag and spoiling it for YOU too are pretty high.

What are the odds that Carcetti being sworn in as governor is part of this year's "This Is Fucked-Up" season-ending montage?  I'd say pretty damn good.
