Joe, it was like this long before I started Lamictal. It's an interesting theory though!

And for all of us, the caffeine sensitivity/sympathetic overactivity seems get more pronounced as we get older.
This seems to be true for me as well. Hm.

I'm kind of just over life. I really don't care what happens anymore at this point. That is sort of annoying me, because it's not like me to think that way. Oh, depression, you're awesome.

Man, I don't know. I'm blaming winter but I think it's a multitude of things. Being away from nearly everyone I love, fucking snow, feeling like I'm never going to get back into school or do anything real with my life, just.. I don't know. Yeah, it's winter. Definitely.

If I'm prying, I apologize... but you're moving back to FLA, right?

Not prying, I've mentioned it here before. Yeah, I'm going back in late March. I need to get my shit together. Finish school there (cheap tuition) and pay off some debts (or attempt to) and then move somewhere. I should've done it in the first place, really.

I think it would do it for me if I could find a better job (to be fair, I stopped looking after two months because I realized that I have no experience doing anything but retail, and no degree) and wasn't AS worried about financial means. But in reality, I think that living in Florida for 22 years and then moving to a place that has WINTER was a big change. Plus, big cities sort of frighten me. I sort of see myself living in Atlanta or Athens or Raleigh/Durham more than Chicago. That isn't to say it's not great, I'm just sort of a wimp. I don't know. Maybe if I was in a better headspace, I'd learn to appreciate it a bit more.

I'm like Jeb with caffeine though, and I'm not on lamictal. I do have tendencies toward hypomania though (I'm pretty classically cyclothymic). The side of my family that I take after, we're all like that, and we have hyperactive sympathetic nervous systems in general, and we all take beta blockers to deal with it. And for all of us, the caffeine sensitivity/sympathetic overactivity seems get more pronounced as we get older.
These days, I only drink decaf coffee, though I can usually tolerate green teas and diet coke fine as long as it's not in copious amounts.
i'm probably like this with an overactive sympathetic nervous system, but i still go back to caffeine hoping it will help me. i just had some pastrami for lunch - and i think that extra tyrosine, combined with whatever caffeine i drank, or whatever else is going on with me . . . is making my head reel. not good. i kind of use caffeine to make up for whatever my thyroid can't do anymore, and that is not so much a good idea, but sometimes it works. but i know my adrenal glands and my stress hormones are always on edge because of that, and taking T3 supplementation. its sort of like i have to choose between flat and dull, or quick and on edge. to modify a simpsons quote "to dopamine overstimulation - the cause of, and solution to, all of life's problems". eh, i should probably not be typing right now.

i'm fucking stuck, literally, at school for the time being. it started snowing and now all roads outta here are closed. swhat you get for building a campus on top of a mountain i guess, but i'm still pretty bitter.
on the plus side the lab across the hall just invited me over for beers and to watch 'life of brian' so it ain't all bad i guess.

Yeah, the snow here has pretty much kept me from being able to go out and buy cold remedies and food.

I really hate the Italian telephone manner of just HANGING UP WITHOUT SAYING ANYTHING if someone answers the phone in another language. It's so rude. I'm fairly sure that, whenever I've called a wrong number in the UK and got someone speaking another language, I've at least said "hello?" and tried to communicate with the other person before hanging up. Man, just say "pronto" and I'll talk to you in Italian, English or even French. I might *even* be able to help you get the phone number you want since I am sitting here with access to the online telephone directory. But don't just call and then hang up.

That used to happen to me in Korea all the time. I really appreciate how hard it is to overcome the basic reaction that a person is being rude, but in the end I decided a lot of things that seem like universal manners are really more culturally specific than I thought. So, I don't know, maybe they are acting the way they were brought up, maybe they're a little afraid of looking stupid for not speaking English, or maybe they are just rude after all.

Oh, nearly forgot why I'm in this thread - toothache! And the dentist can't see me until next Tuesday. It's a little better than it was a couple of days ago, at least, and I'm down to 4 Neurofen a day to keep it under my pain threshold.
Still, there's always someone worse off, and diesel has reminded me to be thankful that it's not earache anyway.

Have I mentioned how fucking irritating it is that thanks to meth hysteria, it's impossible to find over the counter decongestants these days? Seriously, does anyone making these policy decisions realize how difficult it would be to extract the pseudoephedrine from all the other ingredients in NyQuil?

it's happening again! my fever is going up for no reason. my neck lump things are swollen and my fever has been going up all day despite the tylenol and ibprofun I've been pumping into it.
Last time this ended with me in the hospital with a 103 fever. I am not amused.

I'm pretty sure I've got a damn mouse in here. I'm sure my ensuing attempts to try to outwit a rodent with a brain the size of a peanut will be pretty hilarious.

Well, it is technically the year of the rat now.
And the associated Google header is reminding me of "These are the best laid plans of mice..."

haha oh yeah I forgot about that. I'll just fill my sink with water and let nature take its course. Right now it's really creepy, because I can't see him, but I can hear the scurrying from time to time.
