So this is the day the cleaning lady is in and I get to feel rich for a couple of hours because I have someone else clean my house and I try to forget that my cleaning lady only comes in once every three months because that doesn't sound even remotely rich but goddam it I've got better things to do than clean.

I'm studying for a geology exam tomorrow, and this was in my notes:

"Ah, polar wandering. It seems that the north pole is not in a fixed position. Hold on while the Welshman drops some knowledge on you: Suppose you take North America and you start looking at the basalt there and you find like three or four basalts of the same age and you're all Hey Mr. Basalt where was the north pole when you formed? And the basalt is like over there brother but oh snap it's not where the pole is today."

I have a friend who's a specialist on checking the age of rock by looking at their magetic properties. That's what he does for a living. He says he enjoys going to international conferences because it means that there are two other people there who knows what he's on about.
