The other thread was getting awfully long. So continue the discussion here! How much does Whit really resemble Coldforge's coworker?

How is that Camera alexandra was talking about much different from those sticker cams that were so popular a while ago?


I went to the mummers parade on new years day. It was bizarre. I liked it, I think. There was something about the sheer amount of drunk men dancing around and shouting combined with all the babies that were staring at them in horror.


and here is one of my dearest friends on the Ben Franklin Parkway. When walking into philly this way I am always amazed for just a moment by how different the city looks on this end.

Since at least 1997 a bakery in Hoboken has had in its Christmastime window display Santa Claus kneeling before the baby Jesus in a crib. This year, they mixed it up a little bit. As documented with my camera phone, then, I present to you Santa Claus, Jesus, Mary, and Joseph:




And with my camera phone I photographed what is probably the second worst (after this one) American Apparel ad I've ever seen. This is (or perhaps was) in Chicago:

but polaroid had that other camera that did 3x2s that was out at the same time.  i can't think of the name.  i still have the sticker one somewhere.  i liked it!

so this morning i was getting ready for work in my usual haze. i had just gotten out of the shower and reached for my comb from the medicine cabinet. as i grabbed it, i knocked my girlfriend's toothbrush out the cabinet. it took an odd bounce off the sink and went straight into the toilet.

about an inch of it was visible, so i stuck my hand in a ziploc bag and reached in to grab it. the water pushed the toothbrush out of sight before i could grab it. i needed to get to work and had to make use of the toilet as well, so i did the latter then the former. now i'm hoping i can fish it out somehow when i get home.

Speaking of instant cameras and cheesecake advertising, my roommate unexpectedly took my picture with a polaroid the other day.  For some reason, I had one arm behind me, and I was mid-conversation, so my face has this sort of vapid openmouthed easygoing look.  I was also in pajama bottoms and an undershirt at the time.  All that, plus the grainy dark photo-quality of the Polaroid, meant the picture looked exactly like some kind of horrible American Apparel ad.  It both amuses and appalls me.
