I realize that I'm being shrill, annoying, and overbearing about it. 

I just really can't stand Carlton Cuse and Damen Lindoff.  On like, ten different levels.  The scab-action just being the most accessible. 

I mean, you're a nice person in that you don't get all dogmatic every second, and I respect and appreciate that, but don't begrudge me pulling a pollo in this one instance.

oh yeah.  for a second i was thinking it was the chicago equivalent to 'my45' here in phoenix, which shows trashy night time soap operas and dating shows.  MeTV is cool.  i watched Starsky and Hutch, Hawaii Five-O and Batman on it when i was in chicago the past couple of summers.

Yeah, we've got that crappy "my50" here, too.  Those channels are all Fox-owned former UPN affiliates who got left out in the cold with the CW merger. 

MeTV *is* the shit.  I assume they can make a second channel because those syndication rights are fucking dirt cheap, and with the '09 switch to digital, it's basically no more expensive to operate two channels as opposed to one (as long as you've got the content).

Been watching a few eps of Queer as Folk (Uk version) and the tudors. The first is such a smiler, if pretty lacking in substance, it's nice to remember what Carcetti was before he became Major. As for the tudors, well good god, it's a horny little bastard of a tv show, and pretty good fun but so silly. JMR asking one of his advisors if the French King has as impressive calves as him was funny though.

Yeah, by comparison, Josh Schwartz has nothing but respect for American television viewers.  Sad thing is the target demo will eat that shit up, and it'll get a ton of free hype (like the Slate piece) because there's nothing the mainstream media likes more than a good "These crazy kids these days with their Internets and their Myspaces!" piece.

Holy FUCK.  I mean, everyone knew this was an eventuality; but with the way the pilot "season" and upfronts were entrenched into the business side of things, I didn't think we'd see this for another decade.

The Tudors just got even sillier, people kept sweating too death and if that didn't get them they'd be bled to death.

Remember when President Bartlet had that scene in the church where he brought the latin, and people said "oh what a brave choice not putting in subtitles". Well the tudors had many scenes in spanish without subtitles, in fact one entire character arc was done like this. It wasn't brave, just irritating. I suppose I should have known that to fully enjoy a daft romp about king henry I'd have to enroll in spanish classes first.
