I think the goal for that tactic is:
1) to try and somehow get hrod the nom
2) keep the democratic race alive and keep them slinging mud at each other instead of mccain

The final goal I see as somewhat unrealistic, but since neither of them is going to reach the minimum delegate count, getting Clinton as close to Obama as possible in the delegate count for the convention so she can steal the thing with superdelegates. The hope is that this will hurt the moral of the democratic voter surge.

Isn't she still leading Obama by more than ten points there?

Or do you mean it's not enough to affect the outcome w/r/t pledged delegate counts?

It won't hurt it enough, given that the Republican primary was so disjointed, unorganized and pathetic that they just went with whatever shit heel stayed clean the longest.

I just mean that it's basically impossible for her to win the pledged delegate count or the popular vote at this point.  So it doesn't matter if she wins PA by 10 points or by 15, or whether she's down by 150 delegates or 130.

I don't know.  I think if by some fluke, the Democratic party leaves its convention with HC as their nom, there will be a perception that she stole it, and if that does happen, I think a lot of people who voted for the first time in their life for Obama will be disillusioned enough to not vote in the general election.

And HC will still win.  But you and your lady can dream.

Yeah I can't really imagine a likely scenario in which we have a McCain White House, for all the reasons mentioned above and more. The Republicans have spent the last eight years fucking America, and America is champing at the bit to fuck them back.

yeah thats all well and true.  I'm not really saying that this tactic is going to work, I'm just saying that its their ONLY shot.  Although I do remember a lot of people saying the exact same thing about oh, I don't know four years ago.
