Pretty sure I'll be drinking later tonight.  The question is, should I drink the small bottle of something (I'm not sure what it is, exactly, maybe some kind of traditional rice wine?) that's already in my fridge, or go out and buy a $6 bottle of AWESOME FRUIT JUICE wine???

I'd say "TO HELL WITH GOING OUT," but I'm in Chicago and it's so cold

It's gotten pretty damn cold here lately, as well -- though not as cold as Chicago, I'd imagine.  I don't really enjoy going outside much, but I need to get new lenses in my glasses anyway (everything glasses-related is WAY cheaper here and I can get new lenses for $15-30).

I would love to do both.  Unfortunately, I'm a total lightweight and can't even finish an entire bottle of wine, and mixing stuff tends to make me vomit, so...probably won't be doing that.  Perhaps the answer is one tonight and one tomorrow night?  We shall see.  Too bad you'll all be asleep by the time I start drinking.  That is sad, indeed.

The other night I went downtown for some drinks on my buddy's 21st, and I asked how much a JW red on the rocks would be and bartender said "3.25" and I said, "I'll take it" and he pulled the bottle down and then turned around and said "I'll give you green for 4" and I said, "I'll take it" and he filled that glass to the brim and I was pleased as hell.

That's my drinking story for the week.

I got off work early, went to get a bite to eat and an Anchor Steam, and they had none left. Settled for an Amstel Light.  Man was I sad.

Also, someone on this board told me a long while back--in an ancient alcohol thread--that I should be ashamed of myself for liking Amber Bock.  And I thought about it, agreed with them, and set out to purge it from my being.  Guess what--still haven't learned my lesson.  I even cook with the shit now.

tonight the_tourist and i went to a liquor store in koreatown to get beer.  it was called dick's liquor, so of course it was destined to be great.
ended up with a 6 pack of smithwick's, which the guys behind the counter were very fascinated with.  at first they didn't even think they sold it, then he had to explain what it tasted like to them.  it was pretty funny.  they were the nicest liquor store people ever.

I discovered last night that:

rum actually tastes really good without Coke
rum tastes exceptionally good if I drink four 99 cent mini bottles of rum in the back of a movie theater while watching a free screening of Meeting People is Easy
I am more likely to be conscious of the calories in mixers when I have been drinking and am more likely to fool myself into thinking that diet Coke and rum is an acceptable thing for people to drink after I have run out of mini bottles and my friends and I have gone out to continue drinking

I have no idea where my copy of OK Computer is
