Sweet! I want to futz with it.

Does anyone know how to compose a text message to multiple recipients on a Blackberry? I swear, this is the most counter-intuitive UI I've ever used on a mobile device.

Figured it out, but dear lord are these things a massive pain in the ass. There's one massive unified inbox for email, txt messages, DC alerts and phone calls, and even after having the thing for a week it's already extremely cumbersome to sort through. I also can't discern any way of displaying only unread items, so when I get a message alert and open the inbox, I scroll and scroll and scroll until I find whatever's making the LED flash red. Ugh.

They fixed every single thing you mentioned with the Storm.  It's much more iphone-like now.

Man, the other thing that is pissing me off about the Blackberry is that, ever since the software update, I can't see emails that I've sent at all.  So I never know if an email actually ever went through.

I doubly agree with elpollo about blackberry retard fsctor, hate em. My dad has one, it's garbage.
New iPhone continues to grow on me. Worth the price, nowadays, unlike my last one, an aged 3G, which was hardly usable after all of apples "feature" updates. Web is as fast as my iPad on wifi, or close. Magic!

I'm back to using my 3G for the time being, and I actually downgraded from 4.0 to 3.1.3 to make it more usable.

Yeah, man! The kitten dunked my beautiful glass and steel ice cream sandwich in a glass of water. Sold it on eBay; gonna replace it eventually. For now, though, I'm back to my old phone.

My "smart" phone (nokia surge) up and decided to freeze every time I turn it on so I have to use my old basic basic nokia phone.  I have ATT, no upgrades available and warranty is over so I have to buy a new thing.  I was thinking Palm Pre.  I read a review of it when it first came out that seemed pretty cool.  But I don't want to pay $500!  Or maybe I should just downgrade my plan and keep my old trusty phone that will always work.  I'd like a camera though.

eek, sorry for rambling.  My actual question is if I buy a phone off of ebay, is it going to suck?  Can you put your sim card into an iphone or do you just have to copy over all your numbers?  There are some first gen iphones on ebay for like $50!

Hey, I have a Nokia surge also. The only times it freezes on me is when the phone or microSD memory is completely full. Keep about 60 mb free on the phone memory and 100mb free on the microSD memory.

The problem is that I can't even get to the part where I can delete stuff.  I don't doubt the memory is full but how to fix it?  The people at the store and on the customer service line said to just get a new one.

Menu-->Settings-->File mgr, it'll show you how much you have free on phone memory and memory card, then click either one to see a breakdown by file type of everything you've got stored on that type of memory. There'll be a little folder next to each file type that'll be highlighted yellow if there are those kinds of files stored, and then you can go through and clean house.  First time I was having problems, I found out I had a bunch of wav files stored on phone memory and I just deleted a bunch of those, power cycled the device and it came back fine.

Yes, I know how to do that.  But it freezes as soon as I turn it on after I take the battery out.  I can't even turn it off, none of the buttons work.  The home screen only half loads.

Yeah maybe it's fucked, then. Let me know what you end up getting, I'm overdue for an upgrade and have considered switching to Sprint, but unfortunately AT&T has the best coverage in my area. I hate AT&T, I hate their shit stores, their shit associates, their shit customer service, their shit phones, etc...but not as much as I hate not having a signal.

I would do a little digging around before I got a Pre. They got bought by HP so the longevity of the platform is unguaranteed.

Yeah, but if you can snag a Pixi for cheap and you're really not down with iOS or Android (which admittedly is a pretty narrow set of circumstances), it'd probably be a good switch. I'd actually go with that over the original Pre, as all of the "full" Pres I've encountered have definitely started to feel loose and wonky after a while.

The pixie is really nice.  I would miss the slide-y aspect of course, but I really love how simple it is.

Do any of you know much about the iOS 4.0.1 for 3GS update? I know that for a regualr 3G iOS4 didn't work at all, and irretrievably fucked up your phone, as it wasn't really possible to go back to OS3. I'm just being cautious as a result I guess..

I haven't had any problems with the 4.0.1 update, but if you have had problems, there aren't any dramatic differences. If you're still stuck on the 4.0, it might fix some problems.

Switching from blackberry storm to HTC Droid incredible was like switching from dial up to broadband.

I've never used an iPhone so I don't have anything to compare but this phone is bad ass enough to keep me at Verizon for certain

I almost switched from incredible to x while it was backordered but I read a pretty vile review of the x on gizmodo or a similar site and decided to stick with incredible. I couldn't be happier with it.

Is Verizon's Droid better than the EVO? Haven't played around with either of them yet

Oh hey I'm trying to sell my iPhone 3G. Would love to get two hundo for it, but if I could sell it to one of you guys and not some sketchy craigslist person, I'd be down for a discount. Also would be interested in a trade for a smartphone w/keyboard that would work on AT&T.

Do you know what the difference is between the two? I read a review that said the Droid X is the best smart phone currently on the market. I played around with an Incredible a little while I was at a store and was very impressed, and thought the X would be really similar to it -- have any idea what makes one better than the other? Or if you don't, what do you like about the Incredible?
